Celebrating the life of
Tim R. Lurtz
October 09, 1955 - December 13, 2016
Tim Lurtz died Tuesday December 13th while in the embrace of his wife. He was born in O’Fallon, Illinois on October 9, 1955 and settled in Savannah. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
He loved his wife Terri Jones, and kitten Harper Lee, not always in that order, and his siblings Terry and Beth Lurtz, Judy and Jim Schulte, Tom Lurtz and Linda Gleye, Jan and Richard Klie, nieces and nephews Kirstin and Erin Lurtz, Deb McCarthy, Ben Schulte, Cassie and Noah Lurtz, Katie Brown, Jen Perkins, Dana and Ryan Williams and the many friends he considered to be part of his family.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday December 20th at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a memorial tribute at 6:45.
The family suggests any remembrances be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
What Cathy and I will always remember about Tim will be his natural and outgoing smile. Many times, we met Terri and Tim at work functions and had so much fun. Our condolences to Terri and the family.
- Ray and Cathy Heckerman, Palmetto, Fla
I am so sorry to learn of Tim's death. He was a good friend and former roommate at Eastern Illinois University and we enjoyed a great Cubs-Cardinals rivalry. We stayed in touch for several years after school but last saw each other at his wedding celebration in O'Fallon several years ago. My condolences to the family for your loss.
